Steel Cut Oats are made by cutting the oat kernel into 2-3 pieces. Steel Cut Oats take longer to cook (10-15 mins) and make a chunky, nutty tasting porridge. Regular White Oats are flaked, faster to cook (2-5 mins) and make a finer, smoother porridge.

Oats is a gluten free grain however the oats we buy are handled and transported in bulk by our suppliers. Cross-contact can occur if the oats are grown in fields or transported in vehicles that once contained other grains such wheat and traces of gluten may be found in the product. Moreover, our facilities which process oats also handle wheat; hence we do not label our products as gluten free.

We recommend that Bagrry’s Oats be stored in a cool, dry & odour free place. Once opened, it is important to store contents in a well-sealed container to eliminate the risk of infestation and to retain freshness

As per studies, oats are shown to significantly increase your body’s immune response. The beta-glucan fibres of Oats have with antimicrobial capabilities and help white blood cells (body’s fighter cells) locate the site of infections faster. So, do not skip your morning bowl of oats and stay in fighting shape.

Because Bagrry’s Steel Cut Oats and minimally processed they are denser and take longer to cook than Bagrry’s White Oats (quick-cooking oats) or even whole rolled oats. Expect a cooking time of 10-20 mins (depending on how chewy or soft you need the consistency to be), we recommend that you soak the grain for a few hours to reduce cooking time.

Overnight Oats are rich in ‘resistant starch’, which are not absorbed as carbohydrates but instead act as prebiotic fibre, which helps manage weight and aids digestive health! To make a bowl of Overnight Oats just mix 1 cup Bagrry’s Steel Cut Oats with 1 cup of milk (dairy or any nut milk of your choice) and let it soak overnight, in the refrigerator or any dry place. In the morning, just add some fresh fruits, nut, cinnamon to taste and a natural sweetener, if required.
