Description

Stromanthe sanguinea 'Stripestar' is a cultivar of Stromanthe sanguinea Sond. The upper leaf surface of this beauty is a dark green with white midrib. The bottom of the leaves are maroon and create a beautiful contrast to the upper sides.

Lovely plant with dark green leaves and a central white to light green stripe on the topsides while the undersides are maroon or burgundy.

Environment

A beautiful tropical houseplant, calathea thrives in spots with high humidity. Calathea is referred to as a shade plant, since in nature it grows in the densely vegetated tropical rainforests of South America. For this reason the plant may not be placed in the direct sun: it prefers a semi-shaded spot at a temperature of between 16 and 27 �C.
